Lesley’s Bio

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

If you’ve landed on this page, thank you for staying a while. I hope you’ve found an abundance of information to help you decide if working together is the right fit for you.

I received a master of science in marriage and family therapy from Friends University in Kansas City, Kansas. Prior to that, I earned a bachelor of arts in sociology with a research concentration on institutional inequality and a minor in psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. My research capstone at UNC focused on the impact of reporter training on the quality of reports made by mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect.

I’ve dedicated the last 7 years to studying the multifaceted aspects of child abuse and neglect, with an emphasis on developmental trauma and behavior. I am currently serving my second year as faculty for the Kansas Academy of Victim Assistance and hold membership in the Women in Leadership Board of Advisors, University of Oklahoma, for the 2025-2026 term.

I have trained over 3,000 professionals and community members across 13 states including conference and training presentations at The Montana Institute, the Kansas Crime Victims’ Rights Conference, the Kansas School Nurses Conference, the Office of the Attorney General of the State of Kansas, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation and more.

I’m happiest in the mountain air but love adventuring practically anywhere.
