Individuals
I work with clients ages 4 and older. I take a relational approach to therapy, and believe that behaviors, thought patterns, and recurring challenges often take root in past experiences and interactions. My role is to come alongside clients to help navigate a journey to better understanding, and ultimately, better responses to all forms of stress.
My therapeutic foundation is primarily centered on the utilization of attachment theory, child-centered play therapy, Theraplay, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, internal family systems, the neurosequential model and developmental and depth psychology. I believe in a whole-brain and body approach to healing and will recommend clients expand their experience beyond talk therapy by incorporating various types of somatic work with trusted specialists when appropriate.
Couples
I approach couples work primarily informed by attachment theory, imago therapy, and the Gottman Method. This trifecta can be a revelatory process of learning about yourself and your partner. No matter the challenge you may face, the ultimate answer we seek from our partner is ‘Do I matter?’ We’ll explore belonging, power dynamics, and intimacy with compassion and transparency.
Families & Parent-Child Relationships
Family dynamics are intricate and deeply rooted. Often, families desire tools and support to navigate communication, life transitions or new changes to their dynamic. Because of this, I take a strategic and solution-focused approach to meet the needs of each family, where sessions target resolving the issue at hand.
The parent-child relationship is one of the most important relationships we will ever have. I provide connection-focused support to parents that helps them identify action-reaction patterns and how to pivot those patterns into more calm and connected interactions. Additionally, I offer a parenting workshop and follow-up sessions as an alternative to the traditional therapy setting. Find more information on the workshop here.
